Audience:
This is a PhD course taught in English and open to BGSE, ZEF, CGS and IZA students.
At the end of the lecture students can take a final exam (optional). |

Examination: This course is entitled: "Topics in Econometrics and Statistics: Microeconometrics" and grades are based on a term paper to be submitted until June 30, 2012. For further information contact Prof. Joerg Breitung (University of Bonn).

Time:
There will be two lectures per day from 10-12am and 1-3pm and there will also be time to discuss specific problems and own research during the office hours from 3-5pm. Please note, that on Tuesday (May 22) the morning session will be moved to 9.30-11.30am and the afternoon session to 2-4pm.

Content:
The aim of this course is to provide participants with a deeper understanding of microeconometric analysis and will cover the following topics:
- Discrete Response Models
- Censored and Truncated Regression Models
- Sample Selection Models (with an Introduction to Non-Parametric Methods)
- Program Evaluation and Treatment Effects Models
- Panel Data Models
- Estimation of Triangular Systems in Absence of Exclusion Restrictions
