About the Workshop

We are very happy to hold the 8th IZA Workshop on the Economics of Education on October 19 – 20, 2023, in person at IZA Bonn, Germany. The conference will combine invited presentations with an additional poster session aimed at local researchers. Presentations and keynote are available via Zoom for an external audience.
We invite submissions on every aspect of the economics of education, including
  • The distribution of opportunity and early origins of labor market inequality
  • Determinants of human capital and skill formation
  • Inputs into educational production
  • Technological change, digitization and education
  • Changing labor market returns to education
  • Consequences of education policy on labor markets
 

Submission

Researchers interested in participating should submit a full paper by June 20, 2023 using our online application form. Decisions will be communicated by July 7, 2023.
 

Travel and Accommodation

Those authors who are invited are expected to participate in the entire 2-day workshop. Economy class airfares and 3 nights of lodging for presenting authors and discussants will be covered according to the IZA Reimbursement Guidelines if you select the option in the online application form.
Kindly note that tax regulations prohibit IZA from fully reimbursing the travel expenses of conference participants who combine their trip with other destinations or extend their stay beyond the four-day window surrounding the event.
Please be sure before applying that your visa status will allow you to attend the event.

If you are interested in the presentations and keynote feel free to sign up for the live-stream (using the guest-registration button). We kindly ask for your understanding that attending the face-2-face event as a guest is not possible.
