About the Workshop

Labor productivity – real market output per unit of labor input - is a central measure of an economy's standard of living and stands at the intersection of macro and labor economics, relating phenomena as diverse as human capital formation, technological change, dynamics of and trends in the labor share, worker monitoring and workplace relations, and bargaining power in the wage determination process.
This workshop aims to invite papers at the intersection of labor and macro with a particular focus on the role of labor productivity. We are looking for contributions that include, but are not limited to the following areas:
  • Labor productivity and technological change
  • Human capital accumulation and labor supply
  • Progress in the measurement of labor productivity
  • The role of labor productivity in macroeconomic fluctuations and long-run growth
  • Special effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on labor productivity and potential macroeconomic percussions
