Tom Krebs

Tom Krebs is Professor of Economics at Mannheim University, Germany, and has previously held permanent faculty positions at Brown University, the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He received his Ph.D. in Economics in 1995 from Columbia University.

Tom Krebs is a macroeconomist with interest in labor economics and financial economics. His research focuses on the economic analysis of government policy emphasizing issues related to household risk, inequality, and human capital. Applications of his research cover a wide range of topics including labor market reform in Germany, trade reform in Mexico, and macroeconomic stabilization policy in the United States.

He joined IZA as a Research Fellow in September 2014.
