About the Symposium

The fifth IZA Junior/Senior Labor Symposium will be held at the IZA in Bonn, Germany, on Monday and Tuesday, March 23 and 24, 2020. We shall have 10 papers presented by authors who are between 1 and 6 years past the Ph.D. No author on any accepted paper should be outside this range of experience.
In addition to the ten authors in attendance, three senior labor economists, Daniel S. Hamermesh (Barnard College and IZA), Maia Güell (University of Edinburgh and IZA) and Deborah Cobb-Clark (University of Sydney and IZA) will be formal discussants. Each accepted author will also be asked to discuss one of the other presenter’s papers.
 

Submission

Please submit abstracts on papers that are NO MORE THAN SECOND DRAFTS by October 18, 2019 using our online application form. Notifications will be sent by November 15, 2019.
 

Travel and Accommodation

Those authors who are invited are expected to participate in the entire two day workshop. Economy class airfares and up to 3 nights of lodging for presenting authors will be covered according to the IZA Reimbursement Guidelines.
Kindly note that tax regulations prohibit IZA from fully reimbursing the travel expenses of conference participants who combine their trip with other destinations or extend their stay beyond the four-day window surrounding the event.
