About the Workshop

IZA and Universidad Adolfo Ibañez are organizing the 3rd IZA Annual Workshop on Gender and Family Economics. The workshop will create a stimulating environment that will enable participants to engage in discussion and receive valuable feedback on pressing issues in gender- and family-related research and policy.

The keynote lectures will be delivered by
Professor Jere R. Behrman (University of Pennsylvania) and
Professor Rhema Vaithianathan (AUT University).

We invite contributions from both senior and junior researchers. Although submissions in all areas of gender and family economics are welcome, there is a particular interest this year in family-related issues especially research papers that focus on:
  • Children's development: health, education, capability (cognitive and non-cognitive)
  • Theoretical models on parenting and related family decisions
  • Evaluation of policies with respect to children
  • Consequences of early social and economic disadvantages
  • Family formation and dynamics and implications on children
  • Women’s economic, social, and political empowerment

Sumbmissions

Researchers interested in participating should submit an extended abstract or a full paper by November 15, 2018 using our Online Application Form.
