Background

The IZA/FCDO Program on Gender, Growth and Labor Markets in Low-Income Countries (G²LM|LIC) is sponsoring the two-day ONLINE EVENT: "IZA/FCDO Short Course on Research Skills for Sub-Saharan Africa", on December 17-18, 2020.

The course is designed for postgraduate students, faculty members, and early career researchers based in Sub-Saharan Africa who would like to develop their academic research skills.

The course particularly aims at helping researchers learn the skills required for applying to research grants, writing academic papers, presenting in workshops and conferences and publishing at international levels.

Participants who are selected will be required to attend the entire event. The language of instruction is English.

Special Mentoring

In addition to the lectures, we offer a small number of 30-minute slots for a special ONLINE mentoring session in which young researchers have the opportunity to discuss their research work with experienced researchers.

If you would like to apply for one of these slots (in addition to applying for the short course), please upload a full draft of an academic paper in your online application.
 

Submission

Applications should be uploaded via the online application form by November 22, 2020.

The Program Committee will aim to communicate its decisions to the applicants by December 6, 2020.
