We are happy to announce the 14th IZA/CEPR European Summer Symposium in Labour Economics (ESSLE) to be held at the Deutsche Post DHL Conference Center in Bavaria/Germany on September 13-15, 2012 (arrival September 12 afternoon, departure September 16).

The program committee consists of Giuseppe Bertola (EDHEC Business School and CEPR), Marco Caliendo (University of Potsdam and IZA), Josef Zweimüller (University of Zurich, CEPR and IZA).

ESSLE is designed to bring together economists in the field from across Europe and key researchers from outside the region. It provides a unique opportunity for researchers from different universities and countries to discuss their work in a relaxed atmosphere and to develop long-term collaborative relationships. Another important aim of ESSLE is to provide young researchers with the opportunity to meet and discuss their work with senior economists. Paper proposals are invited in any area of labor economics.

ESSLE 2012 will bring together around 40 economists for a period of three days. To foster the desired interaction we request that participants stay for the entire duration of the Symposium. The program combines focus and contributed sessions with time for collaboration and consultation. Some researchers will be asked to present their work in a poster session.

Funding
IZA will cover the cost for accommodation, breakfasts, lunches and dinners at the conference venue. CEPR will cover the travel cost, but only limited funding will be available for this conference. CEPR cannot at this stage commit to financing the travel expenses of all participants. We would therefore encourage you, wherever possible, to draw upon research travel funding you may have at your disposal. Please indicate in your application whether you will be able to cover your own travel costs or whether you will require funding from CEPR. Where CEPR does contribute to travel costs, this will be in accordance with the CEPR Travel Guidelines.

Applications
Those who wish to participate are invited to submit a paper (or an extended abstract) using the online application form at http://www.cepr.org/YourProfile/Meetings.

The deadline for submission is 18:00 GMT on March 30, 2012.
Decisions of acceptance or rejection by the program committee will be announced no later than April 21, 2012.
