We are happy to announce the 17th IZA/CEPR European Summer Symposium in Labour Economics (ESSLE) to be held at the Deutsche Post DHL Conference Center in Bavaria/Germany on September 3-5, 2015. The program itself will start on Thursday afternoon (3rd) and end on Saturday afternoon (5th). Therefore arrivals are expected on Wednesday evening (2nd) or Thursday morning and departures not before Saturday evening or Sunday morning (6th).
The program committee consists of Corrado Giulietti (IZA), and Josef Zweimüller (University of Zurich, CEPR and IZA).
ESSLE is designed to bring together economists in the field from across Europe and key researchers from outside the region. It provides a unique opportunity for researchers from different universities and countries to discuss their work in a relaxed atmosphere and to develop long-term collaborative relationships. Another important aim of ESSLE is to provide young researchers with the opportunity to meet and discuss their work with senior economists. Paper proposals are invited in any area of labour economics.
ESSLE 2015 will bring together around 40 economists for a period of three days. To foster the desired interaction we request that participants stay for the entire duration of the Symposium. The program combines focus and contributed sessions with time for collaboration and consultation. Some researchers will be asked to present their work in a poster session.

Funding

IZA will cover the costs for accommodation, breakfasts, lunches and dinners at the conference venue. CEPR will cover travel costs, but only limited funding will be available. CEPR cannot at this stage commit to financing the travel expenses of all participants. We would therefore encourage you, wherever possible, to draw upon research travel funding you may have at your disposal. Please indicate in your application whether you will be able to cover your own travel costs or whether you will require funding from CEPR. Where CEPR does contribute to travel costs, this will be in accordance with the CEPR ESSLE Travel Guidelines http://www.cepr.org/sites/default/files/events/4579_Expense%20guidelines%20ESSLE2015.pdf
NB: Any incidental expenses incurred during the conference will need to paid for in cash only (credit cards are not accepted).
